Tucson Overnighter

We have an exciting trip coming up this weekend!  Please review the following important information about the trip:

Ride Check-in/Brief: On Saturday morning, we will meet at HDOS no later than 8:45 for pre-ride safety briefing.  Our HOG Manager, Glenn Dusz, will be available to do mileage readings and enrollment in Ride365 — a great program that gives you money for doing something you love, riding!  

Departure: We will depart HDOS no later than 9:30 for ~2.5 hour ride down to Tucson.  We’ll have one comfort stop just south of Phoenix.

Route: Our tentative route is as follows: 101 (S) - 202 (E) - 87 (S) - 79 (S) - Oracle (S) - Ina (E) - Tucson HD.

Lunch: After a scenic ride down, we’ll have lunch at ~12:00 at Tucson Harley-Davidson.  Our friends at Tucson HOG are hosting us for a HOGS and Dogs burn at the dealership.

Afternoon Ride: After lunch, we’ll depart Tucson HD and ride through the Saguaro National Forrest with some friends from Tucson HOG.  We’ll stop at the Desert Museum where we’ll spend about ~30 minutes or so.  The museum has a ~$30 entry fee if you choose to enter, but it's free to walk around and take in the natural landscape (see https://www.desertmuseum.org/).  

Hotel Check-in:  From the Desert Museum, we’ll ride ~20 minutes to Casino del Sol and check-in.  Underground parking is included in our rate.

Dinner: We have dinner reservations under my name at 5:30 at the Fiesta Buffet for ~$30 per person. The buffet has the typical Casino-esque buffet foods: Salad and dessert bars; carving station; pasta bar; pizza bar; Asian cuisine; etc. Our reservation is early b/c the buffet closes at 7PM.  See https://www.casinodelsol.com/dining  

Sunday: For those who’d like to attend this non-chapter event, we’ll depart for the Pima Air and Space Museum with an 8:30 KSU Sunday morning.  I will lead this non-chapter ride.  It’s a 30 minute ride to the museum, and it opens at 9:00.  The museum tour is on your own/with friends.  The tour is NOT a guided tour.  It is a HUGE complex, and walking is the only option to get around.  I recommend comfortable walking shoes/boots and reviewing the exhibits at this link to know what you can expect and how you want to spend your time.  There is no special discount for our group (~$25 per person - there are myriad discounts that may apply to you).  https://pimaair.org/plan-your-visit/general-admission/   The Wood Family is leaving the museum ~10 to make the ride home.    

Departure for Home:  Given than some people may choose to go straight home from the hotel Sunday morning or may only want to spend a short time at the museum, I leave it to you to gather a group of friends to make the return journey with you.
