This is a cross-pollination/two-chapter ride organized by El Cajon HOG's Patrick Coleman: 858-864-8418
El Cajon HOG is a friendly chapter, organizer of the Winter Round Up, and sometimes home of Rex. Some of you may have ridden with Patrick before on a Winter Round Up ride. Patrick and El Cajon HOG have invited 3160ers to join them on a ride they have organized to the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. They have obtained a good rate at an Albuquerque hotel, which is somewhat difficult to do as the International Balloon Festivals attracts thousands of visitors.
Here is their plan: they are riding from El Cajon (near San Diego) to Payson on Tuesday October 6th and are staying overnight. You could ride up Tuesday afternoon and stay at the same hotel, or ride up very early on Wednesday October 7th to join their ride before they leave Payson. They are riding from Payson to Albuquerque on October 7th and staying three nights, October 7th through 9th. They are then riding home on October 10th and spending the night in Prescott. You could either do that and return to the Valley on October 11th, or ride all the way home on October 10th, or do something else. It's flexible!
Hotel and other information is on the El Cajon HOG calendar: https://elcajonhog.org/event/albuquerque-international-balloon-fiesta/
Currently Assistant Director Ray Prather is planning to go. The most important thing to do, if you plan to go, is make your Albuquerque hotel reservation (it is cancellable). If you do plan to go, let Ray Prather (623-210-2097) and me (480-550-0877) know, and also Patrick Coleman, so that you get updated in case there are changes to the plan.
Closed Event: Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. Chapter members. Closed Events are those events open to Chapter members and one guest per member.
